Simply Hired just released data on the best and worst markets for job seekers based on the ratio of unique jobs to job seekers in each metro area. My suspicions were confirmed. The Los Angeles Area is one of the worst four job markets in the nation. The reason – hypercompetition, and an oversupply of talent for available jobs. One Southern Calfornia-area recruiter recently said “I’ve never seen so many qualified, unemployed people in any market before.”
Well for every scarcity there’s opportunity. So, where are the best job prospects? Drumroll….
According to indeed.com, it’s
1) DC
2) Jacksonville, FL
3) Baltimore, MD
4) Salt Lake City, UT
5) New York, NY
6) San Jose, CA
